Back in May of last year, at the 50 Top Pizza Awards, a number of London pizzerias were recognised as being among the very best in Europe. The now legendary Napoli on the Road took the top spot, but another notable inclusion on the list was cult-favourite 081 Pizzeria. Following months of success and acclaim, the pizzeria is expanding and opening its second location in Shoreditch next month. And to celebrate, they’re treating us to FREE PIZZA!

The Peckham pizza spot has humble beginnings. Naples-born Andrea Ascuiti first started slinging pies as 081 Pizzeria in 2021 as a pop-up in an old Peckham car park. And now, they’re bringing a “dose of Naples energy” to East London when they open on April 4, 2025.

How to get a free pizza

To celebrate the launch of 081 Pizzeria in Shoreditch, they’re giving away free pizzas to the first 81 customers when they open. And they’re not just stopping at opening day, either. They’ll be giving away 81 free pizzas each day from April 4 – 6. That’s 243 chances to nab a free pie – and all you have to do is be among the first to turn up!

As well as giving away free pizza, 081 Pizzeria will be slashing their prices. Diners visiting the new Shoreditch location between April 7 – 30 will get 25% off all food. That’s almost a full month of delicious pizzas with a delectable discount.

At 081 Pizzeria

081 Pizzeria quickly became known in and around Peckham for its Neapolitan pizzas. With pillowy crusts (thanks to a 72-hour fermentation) and traditional and bold toppings alike, the pizzas quickly achieved cult status.

The new site will be their largest restaurant and will be the first one to take reservations. Dropping down on Great Eastern Street, the pizzeria will have space for up to 150 guests. Signature pizzas on offer include:

  • Tunarella – yellow cherry tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, red onions, black olive dust, and tuna fillets.
  • Meatballs and Ricotta Stuffed Crust – like it says on the tin, meatballs on top and ricotta in the crust, baked with a cooked tomato sauce base.
  • Pulled Genovese – slow-cooked pulled beef brisket and ribs with a Genovese ragu.
  • Black Truffle and Honey – gorgonzola, fresh shaved black truffle, and hazelnut crumble.

But there’s more than just pizza here. 081 Pizzeria’s menu also includes Napoli-style tapas and plenty of Italian wines and cocktails. After all, you can’t very well not have a drink with your pie! And when you visit, be sure you don’t miss out on the crowd-favourite dessert: the Pistachio Doughnut.

Reservations for 081 Pizzeria Shoreditch are live now. Book a table to try out the pies here.
